32 weeks and baby is "head down and in position", is this common?
I'm 32 weeks today and had a doctors appointment. When doc asked me how I was feeling and if I had and complaints I mentioned that my pelvic bone is kinda killing me and I feel constant pressure down there, I expected her response to be "that's normal" and move on. Her response was more like "well it does feel like baby is head down and dropping so we can check for dilation and any other signs of progression". My gut reaction was to avoid being checked because I have always heard that it can stimulate labor sometimes and she said it wasn't absolutely necessary if I hadn't noticed any fluid, discharge or consistent contractions. I declined the vaginal check, left with a warning from the doc to call labor and delivery with any other signs of labor and was feeling fine with my decision. Now after walking around more today and feeling like baby is just waiting to slide right out, I'm feeling like I might not recognize extra fluid or discharge and may go into labor too early without realizing in time. Maybe I'm over thinking it but I'm nervous that it was neglectful not to let the doctor check my cervix earlier today. What do you guys think, is it totally normal to feel all this pressure around 32 weeks? Would you suggest just going to the hospital to be checked tomorrow just in case?
