How do you know when your kid is color blind?

My 2 year old is constantly calling everything green "red" and everything red "red". He can correctly identify every other color. Do you think this can be a sign of early color blindness or is it way to soon to tell?

With my son we didn't know till he started school. He isn't color blind per say. He knows all his colors it's just when u put say blue and purple next to each other he can't tell the difference. They make these books u can get. They put letters and numbers mixed with colors. That's how we found out with him. But with him being 2 it might just be he's still learning them.

I would take him to an eye doctor with experience with young children. It's really important to have your child's eyes checked by an eye doctor between 1 and 2 years old. Catching vision problems young is the best way to help them. Color blindness is obviously not fixable but other vision imparements could be. My 7 month old has already had her first eye exam. On another note, I babysit a 2 year old and she knows her colors but someways, everything is blue or everything is pink. Sometimes 2 year olds are just weird. :)

It could be  sign, green/red colorblindness is the most common. I would call a pediatrician.

Colorblindness is genetic, so it shouldn't be too early to tell.

My brother and dad are red/geen difficient. Asked my dad about it when I was little and she explained it as, on their own, they can tell the difference but it's a different shade then what we'd see.
