When do you start putting cereal in formula?

Never, there's no nutritional value to it. I'll just be starting baby on fresh puréed veggies and fruits or oatmeal instead..maybe around 8 months. I want to exclusively breastfeed until then.

Unless my son starts showing reflux signs, not doing it and I won't be using cereal at all. It has no nutritional value.

It's actually a choking hazard to add cereal to a bottle. It's also a myth that solids (including cereal) will help a baby sleep longer. ;)

Everyone and doctors will tell you different. But as moms we do what we know is best for our little ones.

My pedi said never in the bottle and by spoon at 6 months but he would prefer no cereal because it's not good for them.

My daughter has reflux. We give her oatmeal in a bowl. Started at 3.5 months. She's now 5 months and doing well. She loves solid food and would love on sweet potatoes, apples and chicken if I let her.

My doctor had me put baby rice cereal in the bottle at like a week old (can't completely remember) because he was unable to keep his formula down. Just a little add to the formula and he was able to hold it down and gain weight. Just make sure you make a hole big enough for it to come out but not too big or the baby could choke.
