Baby higeine question?

I don't want to sound stupid or anything, but me and my so were talking about blow outs (due in 3 weeks) and he brought up something that never crossed my mind before - when you see poop all over a baby, up the front, do you just wipe clean or is there a chance of poop getting up inside her? Can she get a yeast infection? Or should I not be worried and just make sure she looks clean?
