Do you use a sex offender map to see if theres any sex offenders where you live?

Why would I want to know someone else business ?? If he not bothering anybody or have any complaints then why should I ?

I don't. It's there for a purpose I guess but if your going to look so that you are aware then look further and know why. Not everyone who is cursed with that title has messed with a minor in any way.

Yup. Its good to know just so you can be aware, and if there are multiples in a neighborhood I wouldn't move there.

Yes every so often I do check because I have 3 kids who ride bikes up and down the street so need to know so I can tell them that a bad person lives at a certain place so they don't talk to them if approached

Every new place we've moved I've looked up to see if there were any child molesters and rapists in the area. I have small children and my husband is away for work a lot. It makes me feel better knowing someone like that doesn't live next door. I don't see anything wrong with it.

No. Because not all sex offenders are really bad people...hear me out. First they have already done their time and most will do everything they can not to go back.  There's more reasons to get on that list than being a pedophile. If a guy didn't know he was with an underage girl, but had her consent parents can press charges. Or false accusations of rape, that haven't been cleared yet (which in these cases I feel the accuser needs to be charged, because they make it hard for real victims). You can even get put on that list if you get caught peeing outside and someone doesn't like it and report you!!! Also my husband is a correction officer, we have lots of friends that are state troopers so if we want to know about someone we can find out. And we carry, so I'm not scared.

I did it when I was a teenager for fun. Realized my uncle was on the list. Still pretend I don't know about it.

I did once around Halloween time and found out the guy who sat next to me in my college math class was a sex offender.

I did once. Found out that the closest one was a guy I worked with. Never checked again.
