Do single parents raise children better than children with both parents present???

I think it depends on the parents. I've seen wonderful single mothers and some pretty awful two parent households. It totally depends on the individual(s) raising the child. I think in some instances it's better to have two parents when it comes to being more financially stable but again depends on the parents, where they work, live, what they have to pay for, and how many kids they have.

Two parents means two incomes funding the household (most of the time). Literally today I asked my dad for some advice, and he gave me his advice and I appreciated it but it was horribly misognistic and just plain wrong. (I told him I was tired of being harrassed on the street and he said if I stopped wearing leggings, I would've get cat called) I talked to my mom about it and she really understood me and let me vent, but she also helped me understand where my dad was coming from as well. So that's just one instance where two parents are better than one.

Every situation is different. I don't think there's really a best or worst.

Having two people is definitely easier, so looking at it that way, it might be best.

I say no only because of my own experience. My mom left my dad for very good reasons, but it was pretty miserable growing up with a single mom. My brothers and I never saw our mom because she was working all the time so she could support us- my little brother didn't understand that she's our mom for a long time. I didn't have a relationship with her until I was in my teens, after she married my stepdad and could afford to be home more often. 
Being a single mom/parent is incredibly difficult.

I'm a single mom, and my son is happy as can be! I do work a lot and go to school, but he's very well adjusted.

Like most people have said, it depends. I think two parents working together and doing well can have the easiest time rising children well, but a lot of research has shown that it just takes ONE caring person to give a child a good life outcome. If one parent is caring and the other is undermining, it seems harder than if it were just one parent going it alone.

My dad was raised by a single parent. From this he learned how not to parent (from his father who was absent). My dad is retired from the Air Force, got two master's degrees and is working as a successful insurance broker. Now, my brother and I were both raised in a household with two loving parents and we've thrived. My brother just retired from the Air Force but will be doing his same job as a civilian, making a ton of money. And I work in marketing, and will be starting a PhD program very soon. There's no right or wrong way to parent when he comes to having bother over just one.

I think two great parents are better than one. But in some situations one parent may not be suited for child care.
