Eid Mubarak everyone!!!

Erica
I saw this on Facebook and thought I should share! I am so thankful to have made it through this year with my family ! Best wishes to everyone!!!
"Sisters and brothers, I know this has been a difficult month. So much pain, suffering, blood and destruction. But we can't deny that it was also a beautiful month full of contemplation, worship, love and community.
Look, I understand that your heart is broken and that you don't see how we can celebrate amidst all this terrible news, but we must. We have to. We are human. We deserve joy, we deserve celebration. Our children deserve joy and celebration. We cannot submit ourselves to perpetual grief and sorrow. We cannot allow ourselves to fall into despair. This is not our faith. Our faith is hope. Our faith tells us with great difficulties comes ease.
Please my dear sisters and brothers. Celebrate with me. Wake up tomorrow morning, wear your brand new clothes, dress your children in their new eid outfits, take them to the mosque, give them their gifts however small. Give salams to sisters and brothers at Eid prayer, smile, soak yourself in the greatness of God and his creations, the family he has created for you in this Ummah. Thank him for allowing you to live through this Ramadan.
I love you my dear sisters and brothers. Under all the pain and tears there lays a heart. A heart that yearns to love, celebrate and feel joy. Don't worry - this is not a distraction from the challenges around us, just a part of our healing so we can face the world together in the days to come. Celebrate with me.
May all that we experienced this Ramadan keep us sustained until the next Ramadan. May we emerge next year stronger than ever before. May He give us more reasons to celebrate.
From my family to yours, wishing you all a joyous Eid Al-Fitr."
