Breastfeeding vs bottle feeding
FTM here so this may be a silly question. What is the benefit of direct breastfeeding vs pumping/bottle feeding? I have been told that breastfeeding helps the bonding and helps moms from giving up on breast milk altogether. My daughter isn't good at nursing so I have to supplement with pumping too. I was told to offer the breast for 15 mins and then give her a bottle of 2 ounces of breast milk since she isn't eating enough. Honestly, pumping is more convenient and more enjoyable. I feel like the majority of my day is spent between offering her the breast, followed by 20-30 mins of bottle feeding, followed by another 20 mins of pumping. By the time she and I are finished, it's time to repeat. Why is exclusively pumping a bad idea? I thought it was the milk that was good for babies not just the actual breast?
