My birth story

Lauren
I just delivered my 4th son on July 1. He was also my 4th c-section. This started out as my easiest pregnancy until the beginning of May. During May my doctor started worrying about my placenta, so sent me too get 2 MRI'S done at two different hospitals. They both showed that my placenta was covering my celvix and was attached to a muscle. I had placenta accerta. Because of this i was put on bed rest because they were scared i would start bleeding. We then found out i was very low on blood and iron. I had 3 iron infusions. I had to get 2 rounds of steroid shots to help develop the baby's lungs faster. I then started having contractions at 31 weeks. Was sent to a level 3 hospital where i was give 3 different meds to stop labor and was there for 5 nights. Contractions stopped and i was sent home. My doctor explained that if i started bleeding at home to call 911 cause i could bleed out. We had to rehearse woth my 6 year old about calling 911 for my and what to say. My doctor called me a walking time bomb. I made it to 34 weeks and 2 days on July 1 and they said i had to deliver. Right after the c-section i had to have a hysterectomy and one ovary removed because of how bad the placenta was grown into the muscle. I had to have 6 bags of blood during surgery and then 2 more the day after. They didn't think i was going to make it through surgery but i pulled through. My son is doing good and getting stronger each day in the nicu. I was in the hospital for 3 nights and then had to leave him there and come home. I can't imagine not being here for my family. I am blessed for mine and my son's life. I can't wait to bring him home to meet his brothers.
