When did you start pumping to stock up?

When did you start pumping to stock up and what kind of schedule to you do to do it?

I usually pump once during the morning nap. I get about 3-5 oz. I'm not super worried about stocking up but it'll be nice to have a bit on hand for later on if we want a night out or to run errands without baby.

I started when my milk came in.
I feed my son and if he only wants one boob I will pump the other. There is no real schedule but at 5 weeks old I have about 1.5litres stored.

I have been pumping off the excess after her first morning feeding and getting about 3-4 ounces each time.

A friend also just highly recommended this "Milkie" breast milk collector to be worn on the breast that you aren't nursing on. I always saturate nursing pads when I feed my daughter, and apparently this collects the excess milk so it doesn't go to waste! I just ordered one. My friend said that it takes a little extra work, but she collected an additional 70 ounces by the time she went back to work!!

So I was pumping after every feeding (for my 3 week old) and nursing every 3 hours, sometimes giving my baby a bottle after one boob to top him off. Or saving milk in bottles so I could skip one nighttime feeding and hubby could feed. The lactation consultant said I am pumping too much and my breasts have more than enough. She said if I only feed from one breast and it empties, I don't have to pump the other breast. Just to leave it. Also if I skip a feeding, I should pump so I don't get engorged. I'm so confused. I would really like to be able to skip at least one feeding and sleep

I pump and freeze an extra 3oz per day.  Not all at once, like 1-1.5 oz at a time.

I'm just kind of winging it but right now at three weeks I'm pumping after her morning and evening feed for 5 minutes each feeding and saving 3-4 ounces a feeding so 6-8 ounces a day. Some days I pump again during the day if I'm still engorged. I have no idea if that's enough, I just wanted to start something lol
