Frustrated by REI costs

Today I went for my baseline bloodwork and ultrasound (I rarely ovulate) so I can go on Letrazole. First, I was told I had to pay $1550 up front, which was way more than they told me at my consultation. The blood draw is almost $900, and my ultrasound which lasted 5 minutes was almost $700! When I had my daughter the ultrasound was maybe $150 out of pocket and it lasted over an hour (the entire cost of it without insurance is still lower than this ultrasound was). I know this is all "elective" and I haven't hit my deductible yet so there will definitely be out of pocket costs, and I understand that. But I feel like they are just fleecing people for all they can get with what they charge for some of these services. It seems like they care less about helping you than how much money they can make. My HSG was supposed to cost me $3800! I am passing on that right now, I can't afford it, so I hope that this testing will be enough 😔  Having a hard time conceiving is difficult on its own, and the stress of trying pay for it just compounds it. Does anyone else feel this way?
