Future with my SO

As a female that knows a lot about what I want and what I would like to see in my future , I feel sometimes that expressing that to my SO is too much for him to grasp , and I feel as though as we are both getting older we should be taking steps to better our future . I'm 21 and he is 23 going on 24 and I'm almost finished with school and he trying to get back into school and finish and it seems like he is just at a stand still with life I'm ready for marriage , family getting my career started and starting a new chapter but I think I'm the only one ready for that . Am I being the selfish one or just impatient or both.....
