My husband has an almost 6 year old who is now recently my step-daughter. When she is past the brink of tiredness, she goes into missing mommy mode and cries and screams for her. She was 2.5 when she passed from cancer and I'm not sure what she really remembers or what has/was been told to her. I've been in her life since she was 4. It just breaks my heart. She has on occasion started calling me mommy, but mostly calls me by my first name. I can't wait for someone to call me mommy. 🙏🏼💗😢
