Coffee and TTC?

Question

What are people's experiences with drinking coffee or black tea while ttc? I've read mixed things.. No conclusive evidence whether it affects fertility. That makes me worried. I'm a nurse and evidence based practice rules my work life.. Now it's falling into my daily ttc life lol. I work overnights I need to stay awake but don't want to do ANYTHING to potentially jeopardize getting pregnant. I'm in my TWW right now..

My doctor told me that drinking caffeine doesn't hinder your chances of getting pregnant but it does increase your risk of miscarriage by up to 45%.

OMG I'm totally dyyyyyying right now because I've given up coffee and alcohol. Last month I had a CP and I figured that since I gave up the alcohol, giving up caffeine would increase my chances of getting pregnant and making it stick. I hope I'm right this month!

I switched to half caff a few months ago and I was a 6 cup a day girl before.   6 months or so of half caff in the morning and decaf for the rest of the day.  Then the odd full caff when my head was starting to hurt.  Now I am fine with a decaf in the morning or even nothing.  I do usually treat myself to a decaf Starbucks once and awhile though :)  and I like the odd tea and night when it's cooler out.

I only drank 1 cup which my doctor said was okay. Occasionally before I knew I was pregnant I might have a little more caffeine. I had a miscarriage at 5 wks and I'm trying to go off coffee but I'm soo addicted I feel aweful if I don't have it. I don't know if it even if it affected my pregnancy or not but it makes me worried.
