So some pro athlete posted this image on his fb, and the team made him issue an apology, but as he is a public figure, should he be fired?

Same goes for racist comments  from white people ,  white reporters etc.

White people  get fired all the time for this @hit. Why the double standard ?

I think he should be fired. He has a huge influence on young people since he is a pro athlete. Posting this makes kids think it's an okay thing to do and will think he's telling them to do it.

Well then there shouldnt be any cops or security at the stadium and if his number ever rings the cops then hes shit out of luck. Thats pretty much a direct threat to cops from him. Should get fired but we know he wont.

Just so you all understand. "Freedom of Speeh" does not literally mean you can say or do whatever you please. I say this as a graduate American Constitutional Law student. The Supreame Court has made judgements on many issues of free speech from the KKK, flag burning, and other major cases all the way to seemingly trivial methods of speech such as porn(not protected by the way). This is not protected under the rules of evaluation set in place in these various cases. Precedent is very important in American law. In areas such as this one the government has a legitimate interest in regulating such speech because it effects the civil order as well as directly incited a specific crime. Should he get fired? Maybe. Is there a very legal reason to? Yes. Is it a violation of his rights of he were fired? NO. I hope you all understand your Freedom of Speeh a little bit better. Over simplified, but that's basically how this works.

Yes, a girl I used to work with posted a picture of a offending meme she was sacked the next day as they have a no tolerance rule. This is horrific and to be in the public eye comes with a huge responsibility and he needs to understand he has a huge influence not only of young minds but anyone with a chip on their shoulder atm, he should be fired and make a public humble apology, not a forced one which still isn't enough to undo the possible damage he has already done.
