Do you think working as a housekeeper is the lowest job ever?

I work as a housekeeper i am 19 and 3 of my good  friends work as a front desk, target, and walgreens.. And they think my job is a job i shouldnt do because is about cleaning at a hotel.. This hotel is not a nasty one is very nice and they treat me great. But my friends make me feel like i am the lowest of the low with their comments, one of them joke around all the time that i should start cleaning her room and bathroom... I dont even want to work as a housekeeper anymore but i do love it. I am just wondering what the world thinks about housekeepers,

Your friends sound like spoiled brats. Being treated well and actually liking the work you're doing is fantastic, and many times, rare. Don't let anyone, especially entitled, lazy teenagers, discourage you from actually working for a living. I hope I can raise my children to appreciate the kind of work ethic you have. You're awesome!

D. You get a discount on hotels I'm sure. So when you travel, they of course will want to room with you as it will be cheaper. I would say no to them. lol 
E. You don't have to deal with annoying people as much as they do Or I would imagine. I've never done your job. 
F. You need new friends who aren't as judgemental, conceited and rude. 
G. Don't get a job that will make you as miserable as them to make them like you more. Your happiness is more important then what they think. 
H. They are jealouse that you aren't miserable like they are, so they are doing their best to make you feel like they do every time they go to work.

A job is a job no matter what it is! You're making money and to be quite honest, I'd rather be a housekeeper for a hotel than work at Target or Walgreens! I've been in retail and I hated it, I've worked as a housekeeper and loved it! You get to interact with some characters at times but it's always nice to work on your own time

I am a self employed housekeeper and clean people's houses. . I work hard to provide for my kids and am able to drop them off and pick them up from  school.  I am actually quite proud of myself.

I was a salesperson in a world full of servers and all my friends treated me the same way because my job was different than theirs. They accused me of acting like I was better than them because I was going to bed around the time they were leaving work and we couldn't hang out any more.

Long story short: They need to respect your decision whether they agree with you or not. If they can't do that, they can be replaced.
