Sooooooooooo happy. You were well worth the wait.
I was asked to choose an induction date for this week at my doctors appointment on Monday. So far I was 3cm, 80% effaced. I chose Wednesday (July 13th), I left the doctor and later received a call from the office letting me know that the hospital was booked but I can schedule my appt for the next day. Fine. This morning, I woke up at 5:45 with a period like cramp, my first time feeling cramping my entire pregnancy. I downloaded the contraction app and started tracking. My contractions started off 5 mins apart π³ then they were 3 mins apart by the time I woke my mom up. She immediately went into panic mode LOL. The contractions were lasting a minute each and they felt like strong period cramps. They weren't unbearable like a 7/10. Then, I threw up. And my mom was like "LETS GO".
Fast forward (hospital)
I got in around 7am, got admitted and got to the first room to check babies heart rate. The cramps started picking up steam by now. They checked me and I was 6cm. YAY. They moved me to L&D to give me my epidural around 830am... Things were so sweet after this! I was so happy, laughing, joking, just having a good time. I dilated to an 8, quickly. Then I dilated to a 9 after another hour or two.. All painless, the epidural was so strong it actually numbed me on one side π eventually I was fully dilated. And it was time for me to push and I couldn't even feel my legs! Lol the pushing was hard for me. It lasted about 30-35 minutes because I was numb and they had to tell me when my contractions were coming but anyway. Finally my handsome son Cameron Christopher Thomas was born at 1:41pm at 8lbs and 5oz. Labor was not so bad for me at all. Don't freak yourself out mommas. You are born for this!
