Anyone planned their own baby shower?

I'm beginning to plan my own babyshower. I'm a FTM and have to plan my own shower because basically no one else will. I really want oNe. Any ideas and suggestions when planning. Also budgeting ideas?

I threw my own shower for my first. I kept a reasonable budget for food and games. I did assign my babies godmother (she offered to atleast help) the role of picking up the materials for the games as well as the cake. My husband prepared the food (bbq) while I decorated. Everything turned out great. It was also a really small party with our closets friends and a few of his cousins

Were doing ours co-ed at a park.
Simple snacks and drinks.
Doing a diaper raffle, where people bring any size box of diapers and their name goes in a bin, and you draw a name at the end to give a gift, were giving a gift card.
Filling a small bottle with candy and closest guess wins the candy.
Bought Hershey chocolate bars to color in the "he" or "she" on the bar to give as party treats.
Doing a small cake to show the sexes, because we haven't told anyone.
Found baby word finds, crosswords, and word scrambles on google.
Making a large poster board so people can write their guesses for day, time, pounds, and inches for babies.
There's more but my mind is blanking.

Im a little disappointed I have to throw my own shower because over the years I've given friends parties for their birthday & many other things, seems like it got to my turn and everyone forgot about me. My mom passed away 6 years ago MIL said she'd help but her daughter just had a baby & her focus is on her right now which is understandable, but I'm putting all the saltiness and disappointment behind me so I can make this a fun thing. I've been looking at low cost baby showers for awhile now hoping I can come to the conclusion soon.

Pinterest has really good budget friendly ideas for a baby shower! I would say skip invitations and create a Facebook invite. You could always look for restaurants that will rent you a room out - that way if people want to eat they can purchase food from the restaurant. I worked at Friday's and we had a back room. People used to rent it out on Sunday's because it wasn't used and it wasn't very expensive! I am having a co-Ed shower-- if you do that your so has to help!! Lol

I'd like a shower but I live in the UK and they're not much of a thing here. I'm thinking about doing something myself.  It'd be low key, and mostly about getting friends and family together so I'd just have it at home and make up a nice buffet and a cake.  I didn't feel comfortable with having a registry for our wedding so I don't think I would for a shower - we've bought all the big stuff so would be quite happy with anything anyone decided to gift (clothes, toys, nappies etc).

I'm about ready to do it myself. My mother in law threw my bridal shower and it was 90% people over 50 (I'm in my early 20s) and I knew maybe 10 of the 60 people there. Then she had some crappy games that made no sense. 
She's mentioned a shower once. It would have to be in September or October and booking anywhere to have it is getting pretty short notice.

Kinda...MIL is suppose to be throwing it. She took it upon herself the second she found out...
And well...I've done quite a bit of work into it now.. Lol kinda upsetting but it is what it is..
