Mine usually doesn't care unless it gets too wild. So I just trim it up.

I used to be bald, then was like I'll be forever bald and feel cleaner. Well I decided to keep a small neat bush almost like a landing strip, then just shave the remaining parts. Less razor bumps. Plus he likes it. Its a win win.

Every guys is different. My husband prefers it bald, but I get so irritated that I only shave or get it waxed for special occasions 😂
