Is it too early for me to use birth control?

So I'm 16 and I don't have sex but is it too early to begin birth control?? Also, some of my friends say it makes u very moody. Is that true?

I'd say yes. If you have no reason to go on it (e.g. Not sexually active, normal periods etc) then why would you go on it if you didn't need to?

It's not too early but the longer the better. If you don't have to put artificial hormones in your body than don't do it. I started BC when I was 12 and had horrible side effects & decided to stop it when I got to high school. I'm 22 and just recently started again b/c my periods were all out of whack and just unbearable. My new dr. said that I probably had all those side effects b/c I was just too young. If you aren't having problems or having sex, I wouldn't risk it!

No! I got on birth control when I was 15 (didn't have sex until 17) just so it was in my system and it was settled before I did meet someone x
