Does anyone have any tips to cut down on comfort nursing? My son is 6 weeks old and is breastfed most of the day except for 1 bottle \day of pumped milk given by dad. My son won't go to sleep unless he is comfort nursing and in the evening it is getting to be too much for me to handle. He will nurse for hours and if we try to do anything else with him he screams and cries. And when he finally falls asleep he wakes up as soon as I put him down and the whole process starts over again. He is gaining weight well and I know he is not eating the entire time he is nursing. I've tried pacifiers (smoothie and mam) he just spits them out or starts crying as soon as I put it in his mouth. I've tried gas relief drops and bicycles in case he was feeling gassy. Any other suggestions?
