can someone explain thoroughly how braxton hicks feel?

I am 37 weeks and still can't tell the difference between it and the baby changing position

BH make your belly super tight and hard for a short while. 
i had maybe 3-4 so far, not everyone has them, don't worry.

I was always confused as well until I figured out that BH contractions make me totally breathless, like something is sitting on my chest. When little man moves it usually is very quick and sharp. Contractions are tight and heavy, and make me have to stop and catch my breath.

For me my belly gets hard, there's a clear lump/ball sticking out that's uncomfortable for about 30 secs, and my now outie belly button goes flat

The hardening is the most obvious sign for me. It usually starts at the top and seems to spread to my whole uterus. Visually my stomach changes shape too and my belly button pops a bit. If you keep your hands on either side of your stomach and leave them there you can feel it spread and then pass.

Sometimes will make it harder to breathe as well.

I was confused about it at first also. I noticed the top of my belly gets hard and tenses. Easier to figure out now that baby has dropped. Turns out I've had Braxton hicks for a long time but thought it was baby moving towards the top of my belly. My BH have increased a bunch this week. Makes me excited.
