Dental work this late in pregnancy?

I tried googling this subject, but it seems every dentist, and every OB has a different opinion/set of rules for this type of thing. I can't call either of them until Monday morning, but was just wondering if any of you had had any work done this late in your pregnancy?

I had a root canal at 8 months with my oldest. She's fine. My brother is a dentist so he made sure I didn't postpone any procedures or cleanings as he knows that any type of infection can pass to the baby. They had a pillow for me to use for lumbar support and we did it in two appointments instead of one. Also had a cavity filled with this one.

A lot of people have work done. But if you're going to, you'll have to call your dentist and ask if they'll work on you for what you need specifically because some places will and some places won't

I need a root canal, but found it hard to find someone that would even let me in the exam room when they realized how I was. When I found one and took the letter from my OB he did the exam took a few X-rays but refused my root canal. He said he would send my OB a letter stating exactly what I need and wait for her approval. He says that the stress on the body and the anesthesia can start my labor and he is not willing to risk it. I still have the pain so I can't wait to get an answer on 34wks now

What late? I have had procedures in my pregnancy and I have a filling and a cleaning next week at 36w3d.

I'm a dental hygienist... It really depends on what your OB will allow. Typically, anything "elective" will be scheduled after you deliver. If something is hurting then they will address it with your OBs consent (like what type of anesthetics can be used ect..). Cleanings are totally fine at any point in pregnancy.

I have 7 appointments this month!! Well now 6 after the tooth filling I just had done but next I have another tooth to be filled and a root canal and cleaning. I was 35 weeks last appointment and laying back in the chair was uncomfortable because baby was moving around and up in my stomach and ribs. The dentist said I can take breaks or lay sideways if I started getting dizzy from baby laying on a nerve. I never felt the need to but man it was so uncomfortable. He also balled up in a knot and I tried so hard not to laugh at how my belly felt when the dentist was working on my tooth. Lol

I'm sure that whatever your dentist would make sure whatever you need some would be safe for the baby, but I would be careful laying back in the chair. I went for a routine cleaning around 32 weeks and I passed out from the weight of my little boy pressing on everything. Husband had to come pick me up! Maybe wait until after the baby is born if you can?

I got two wisdom teeth pulled out at about 25 weeks. My cleaning and tomorrow makes me 37 weeks and I have an appointment to get a build up and cap replacement

Dental assistant here..
Its  actually  recommend to go to the dentist while pregnant.
Only concerns the doctors may have is exposing you to radiation. 
Nothing can harm you baby if you do have really bad mouth pain and NEED to have some taken. 
Our cell phones give off more radiation believe it or not, but it just a precautions a lot offices have. 😊

I just had a cavity filled last week. Even though my dentist is my father In Law, he acted like it was no problem. Just make sure they don't take any x rays and if you're uncomfortable laying Down flat, let them know. Good luck!
