Making your own baby food?

I've been researching this lately and I understand people do it mostly for the organic aspect of it but I was just looking into it to save some money. Does anybody make their own baby food? If so, do you think the time spent is worth the amount of money saved? How much do you save on baby food a month by making your own?

We just do baby led weaning. Barely any effort and money saved because baby eats what we eat. Babies who do baby led weaning tend to be less picky because they get textures unlike purées. And it's healthiest.

Yes, I did, and plan to again. Don't get me wrong, store bought is fine!!! It was just easier for us to buy fresh or frozen veggies & fruits and blend them in our bullet. We knew what was going in, and could do a huge variety.

I've done it for three of my five children and plan on doing it for this baby too. I don't live in the states and know prices on produce are cheaper where I live, but to give you an example: I can get 1 kilo (2 pounds) of carrots for 79-99 cents, 1 kg of bananas for €1.19, 1kg green beans €1.29, 2kg apples €1.99. That makes a LOT of baby food! I'd say at least one months worth. If you compare buying jars at 75cents-€1.15 per jar, that's HUGE savings! I will gladly spend 1-2 hours per month in the kitchen steaming and purée-ing fruits and veggies to know exactly what my baby eats and save that much money!
