Any difficulties conceiving when SO has type 2 diabetes?

We have been trying to conceive for around 9 months now and my husband has recently been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Does anyone have experience of trying to conceive under the same circumstances? We don't know wether to approach the doctor about it now or keep trying for a bit longer

I have three beautiful girls with my husband who has been type 2 diabetic for over 10 years, he takes metformin and glipizide to manage his sugar levels... Always runs high! After a year of trying to conceive the doctor may say you have fertility issues.. honestly with my 3 week old after I got off my Bc it was about 7 or 8 months before we conceived her.. stay patient, it's hard but I'm sure it will happen for you guys.

As long as hes eating healthy and taking his pills and his sugar doesnt go higher than 10 (to use insulin) you both are good. Just go to a nutritionist :)
