I'm 17 and really want to go on either the pill or the patch for birth control. I want to ask my mom but I'm not sure how to ask because I'll have no idea what she'll say. She's not super strict and wouldn't be upset about me having sex as long as she knows I'm being safe. I've only had sex with one person before, someone I dated pretty recently (we broke up a month ago). I just started dating a 19 year old about two weeks ago, we haven't had sex yet. I've been wanting to ask my mom about putting me on BC for a while but I feel like because I just started dating a 19 year old, she'll think that's the only reason. I'm okay with using condoms until I can get on the pill or the patch but I want the other effects of the pill/patch too, like regulating my period. Any suggestions?
