If you've had a cesarean, was your incision vertical or horizontal?

I had a vertical incision from my cesarean 3 years ago. Everyone else I know has had a horizontal incision. I was told by my doctor I cannot do a vbac because of this. Just wondering if I'm totally alone in this....

My mom was cut both ways. They said the first cut (vertical) was accidental. I'd confront the doctor who did your surgery before.

Most time if it's a emergancy c-section you could end with a vertical cut for safety reasons. A vertical cut doesn't fit with trying VBAC unfortunately.... I'm sorry. But you snd your Baby are living and safe.

My sisters is huge it's up and down because her baby was breach she was told to never even try to do vback because it was too dangerous so when she got pregnant again she went into early labor and it cause her to rupture so if a dr tells you no v back listen to them.

YOU CAN VBAC!!!! You just need to find a healthcare provider experienced and confident enough to attend it and a hospital that allows TOLAC on these scars. BOTH mine was inverted T incision. It started as a lower transverse but he was wedged way down so they had to cut upwards to pull him up towards my navel then out of my womb

I had never met the doctor who delivered me until I went into labor. My water broke naturally and I was in labor for almost 24 hours before he told me my body wouldn't dilate so we should do a cesarean so I could be home before Christmas. I was alone scared and confused so I agreed. I had a very traumatic recovery from the vertical incision, I contracted staph infection immediately which caused the wound to dehisc (it was a gaping hole for the first month and I had a wound vac machine attached to me for weeks) so I was hoping I could do a vbac this time around. I'm feeling angry and confused as to why I was cut vertically in the first place. I've never seen the doctor again so I can't ask.
