My husband and I were trying to conceive for 10 months before getting our BFP in February. We were over the moon and so excited after trying for so long.

Our baby was due on 10/19/2016.

At our 13 week check up on April 11th our NT scan came back abnormal and we were told our baby had Alobar holoprosencephaly which is the most severe form with no separation of the brain.

We were also told that only 3% of pregnancy end with live babies and were told we needed a D&C.

We went in 2 days later and the procedure was done.... We are still having a very hard time with our loss and we are currently TTCing again.

We choose to give the baby a gender neutral name and decided on Phoenix. Po for short.

I have two daughters from a previous marriage.

This would've been my husbands first.

TTCing this time around is very scary and the fact that anything can happen is terrifying but we are hoping and praying for the best.

I just wanted to share my story for those going through a loss. You're not alone.
