Is it wrong to be obsessed with a serial killer?

Serial killers tend to be charming and manipulating people. Ted Bundy had/has a huge female following because he was "too handsome to do those terrible things". He lured girls with it. Charles Manson also had/has a following of women. He was married about over a year ago. Manson got his "family" to murder multiple people, including a pregnant woman, Sharon Tate. Alieen Wuornos manipulated her girlfriend and "adoptive family". So yes, it can be dangerous to be obsessed because these people use it to their advantage, by either killing you or using you to get out of trouble (women believe Bundy was innocent and the trial was crazy).

Obviously, I know about serial killers (at least three) so learning about them and being interested is not dangerous, but connecting yourself to them is.

Idk. I find it interesting. I wouldn't say I'm obsessed. But I'm interested in what made them do it , they childhood ect...

Nah. Unless you want to recreate or take inspiration from their killings, it's just human curiosity. I love learning about serial killers and murders. It's just an interesting thing

Depends...famous serial killer that everyone knows, and you're fascinated in a non psycho way, then yes it's totally normal. If you know a serial killer and haven't told anyone - not normal. If you're in love with them...that's a separate issue.

I feel like you're meaning sexually because of the group you posted it in. In that case, it's not bad unless you end up seeking out a serial killer to try and have a sexual relationship with that person. It's a perfectly acceptable kink if you want your SO to pretend like he's super edgy and psycho... not for me (just thought I'd clarify) but it's alright 😝

Do you mean sexually or just an interest? My friend and I often talk about serial killers and wonder what drove them to kill, and my poor mother watches documentaries about them, but she's also trying to quit smoking and the nicotine withdrawals give her nightmares 😳

I wouldn't say it's wrong per se.  It's strange and possibly unhealthy.

Nah there's nothing wrong with being fascinated by true crime, as long as you don't develop a full blown obsession that causes you to do things damaging to yourself or others. You should check out the My Favorite Murder podcast and the Murders Most Fowl podcast series.
