When people turn a compliment to a pitty party?

Am I the only one who hates whenever I compliment someone on their beauty and get the response "no I'm ugly" or "I'm not beautiful" "stop lying to me I'm so ugly ew" LIKE DAMN BITCH I SAID YOU POPPIN WTF

 if you can't love you how could you expect someone else to.  
I am 29 now but when i was younger i  had no one to identify with.. I am a multi mixed person with big curly hair freckles mono lids and big lips. I've always been thick with a big butt and round face.. no barbies or baby dolls looked like me.. black people asked if I was white and white people weren't sure what I was.. or they assumed I was some type of  islander. I've never been called ugly but
I had a hard time thinking I was beautiful in a classic sense..  Then I saw  people paying for features I have naturally.
If someone is beautiful to you, tell them.. you may be the first to let them know..

I love me .. I am beautiful wonderful and amazing and anyone who disagrees is a liar!  I have a daughter who looks just like me and she makes me so proud because she is so confident and free even at 8.

I think it's because our generation has learned to try and be humble about things. But were all too awkward to say "yeah Im super cute" because we live in a world where someone else makes us feel guilty for feeling good about ourselves. Honestly, a lot of people enjoy being complimented but since it's not a regular thing we get nervous about what to say back because typically were undeniably flattered. Therefore, we usually deny what someone says as a response to not have to react. If that makes sense. I hope its something to think about <3

Omg yes!!! Like just take the f'n compliment your skin is flawless and if you lose weight you'll no longer exist so stop complaining!

Or low self esteem issues like its hard for me to hear someone compliment me because I don't believe I am pretty or can do things well so saying thank you is agreeing with them and that just is super hard to do.
