Gestetional diabetes dangerous to baby ?

So my doctors answers are so short every time I ask something I had my 3 hour glucose test repeated twice so I believe I have diabetes! How dangerous is it for babies? I'm freaking out from all the Google stuff I'm reading about complications with birth and baby not being able to breath correctly and cause brain damage? Is this a common complication??? HELP

There is measuring big but also there's a big chance for baby to have low blood sugar after birth, and having high blood sugars can damage soft tissue organs ... Good luck

As long as you keep your blood sugars under control your baby shouldn't have any complications. I am a type 1 diabetic & I was worried about the same thing but I have been very strict on keeping my blood sugars regular & my doctor said my baby will be no more at risk for complications than a non high risk baby. My baby is on the slightly heavier side though & that is common with diabetic mothers. I also have to be induced a week early. Not sure if that is normal with gestational diabetes or just because I am insulin dependent.

The biggest problem I've heard of it causing is a big baby I had gestational diabetes and my daughter was born at 32 weeks 100% healthy and 5lbs 12oz. Just eat healthy try to avoid most sugar
