Stay at home wife

Do you ladies feel that it's a full time job to be a stay at home wife? Would you be able to find things to do at home to occupy your time to consider it full time? I know adding children to the mix is DEF a full time job! Yes a J.O.B.!! I know it's a lot to handle, but someone I know (yes it's my husband, but I don't want to make him sound like a bad guy because he really is the most amazing man I could have ever asked for) thinks that if you don't have kids that you should always work outside of your home. It's been my dream to be able to just stay home after getting married. So what do y'all think?
 UPDATE: thank you so much for your replies! I can def see both sides of the argument. And I'm glad I got more insight on the matter. My husbands past experience with SAHWs was a bad one. His mother stayed home and did nothing while his dad worked from dark to dark. I think it's a fear of his that I would do the same. I have a full time job and I have my own business with Mary Kay which I would love to do full time. Even if I quit my day job I would still work my business. I know I wouldn't be lazy and let myself go, or the house go. Thanks again ladies and I plan on speaking with my husband again on the matter! God bless!
