Please help! 11months TTC

Help please! AF due today and I tested this morning. I have been very lightly spotting for two days, but normally I spot a lot more (for a week or more) before AF. Took this test this morning. It looks like there is a black smudge where the positive line would be? Is this normal? Could this be the start of a line? I've had a lot of negative tests and I've never seen this before! Can anyone tweak??
