Ways to dry up Breast milk?

Question

I have decided that I want to wean Mason on to formula, but not quite sure on how to dry my milk up. In the begining I loved breast feeding and the bond we had but now I just feel the want to breastfeed anymore. Please no negative comments just asking for support and advice thank you :)

I exclusively pumped for a couple days at every feeding to make sure I really wanted to switch (had a lot of family around to care for baby and 3 year old at the time so it worked), then pumped once in the morning, noon, and evening, then just morning and evening, then just evening for 2 days. I only pumped if I felt uncomfortable, basically. I think it only took a week to get to no pumping and I felt random letdown sensations for another week but didn't leak or anything. People discouraged me from pumping because I was still telling my body it needed to make milk, but my body figured it out pretty fast. Good luck!

Introduce bottles of breast milk first in a feeding he doesn't care about like the lunchtime (not one to comfort or get him to sleep) then mix it with formula in a couple days and just keep adding more and more formula and bottles more often.  Your milk will regulate a day slow down then dry up. Just express a tiny bit during and engorgement

Allergy medications ... Benadryl, Claritin and a nice tight bra or ace wrap!

It took about 2 weeks for mine to completely dry up, but my doc said to wear a tight fitting bra/sports bra and put cabbage on my breasts every 4 hours. (It gets really stinky!) and no stimulation! I had to get a hot rag every night and massage my breasts because they were so engorged and hurting. 
I was exclusively pumping when I stopped so I went from pumping every 4-5 hours a day to only once or twice a day and slowly stopped. Just so I wouldn't get mastitis or clogged ducts. 
Also, when you take really hot showers, your milk will leak like crazy and try not to stay in there too long is what my doc said! Just until the milk dries ion
