I was told boy at 14 weeks and looked like it could be, but I had doubts. at 20 weeks they confirmed it was a girl.  14 wks they are not truly done developing to truly confirm the gender.

I would say wait until your next scan to buy anything big that is gender specific, and if you already bought clothes and things just don't take off the tags or wash them so that you can still return them on the off chance that the scan is wrong or that it is the cord.

I wouldn't start buying blue just from a 14 week ultrasound.  Both genders have similar nubs at that gestation or it could be the cord!!
