Mastitis?

Any June mummy's had or got mastitis? What were your symptoms?

I had it. Came out of nowhere with chills, then fever and aches. My boob was red and blotchy. I couldn't watch my son I got so dizzy and thought I would drop him so my husband watched him and handed him to me for feedings.

I've had it twice in 2 weeks. I've actually got it right now. The first time I got it I went to bed feeling great and woke up an hour later with uncontrollable chills, a fever, and vomiting. My breast was swollen and bright red. I got an antibiotic the next day. Then I got mastitis again yesterday morning. Again I felt great, got out of the shower and noticed my boob was red and I had some pain under my arm pit. Within an hour I was sobbing, had severe chills, and struggled to move. I got my antibiotic last night and I'm already feeling better. But mastitis knocks me on my butt the first day. I literally can't take care of my baby because I'm too weak. If you think you have it call your dr immediately. I have to go see my dr this coming week to find out why mine is reoccurring because I don't feel a clogged duct at all.

Yes! Mine started with a hard, painful lump in my left breast. It started to get red and hot to the touch as well as loan increase around 5 pm the day it started and by 8 pm I had a fever, chills, aches and severe pain. I would not wish it on my worst enemy! Get a hot pack and put it on your breast, take tylonol and when you feel like you can stand it 'massage the are as much as you can to break up the infection. My dr did it and it hurt so bad but he got the plug cleared and then started me on antibiotics and probiotics. If it is just painful it's probably a plugged duct which in that case requires heat and massage and lots of pumping or breastfeeding on that side. Good luck!

I didn't get it with this baby but with my first I did I had fever symptoms I was hot in temperature and my boobs were rock hard I couldn't move
