IUD problems and/or annoyances

So I got an IUD in April of this year (2016) after having my son in February and I have been having some moderate/mild cramping.  Well tonight, 7/24/16, I have been having a cramp on my lower right side.  It's almost 2am MST.  My midwife whom placed this for me said it could take up to a year to be normal again.  These cramps are certainly annoying and sometimes painful.  I just would like to know if anyone else out there is having similar problems. I have finally stopped bleeding but these cramps can be ANNOYING! I have tried Tylenol and ibprophen but no help.  I know of midol and heating pads too.  Just wanting to see if there are any other women having this annoyance.  Thanks for reading!
