IUD causing smell?

I got the copper IUD about 3 weeks ago... And the first week I noticed a very metallic smell. 
The last couple weeks it's off n on and the smell is strange. Idk how to explain it, kind of a mixture of metallic and just a weird smell. 
Should I be concerned?

Funny. I noticed this as well. I didn't have the copper kind, but I did have the hormonal Mirena and I definitely noticed a weird smell that freaked me out a bit. However, the difference is, I didn't notice it until years later. Maybe my 4th year of having it in. I recently had it taken out  and I haven't noticed anything as prevalent as before.  I chalked it up to either hormonal/age changes or a bacterial infection, and I'm still unsure if it was, in fact, the IUD that caused it...
