Baby at 20?

Pros and cons to having a baby at 20. I'd like to hear experiences, and how things turned out for everyone. Goes for all ages and when you had your little one (:

I had my son at 17 and daughter at 19... Luckily I had a man who had a great job. I never worried about money and health insurance, etc. But I will say having a child that young was hard since I didn't have the patience that I do now as a 35 year old women. And when you have small children you need A LOT of patiences. Now that I'm older I am having a lot of baby fever. And I feel like I can handle it and be a better mother then I was when I was young. My hardest part is starting over... I'm stuck right now.

What's your support system like? Do you have a regular income that can feed, cloth and pay for necessities that a baby needs? Can you afford daycare? Will you need to go on welfare? Do you have health insurance and have you researched the cost of having a baby?

My friend had a baby at 15!! It wasn't an accident though, she actually wanted one and I supported her the whole time!! She had the money, time, and mentality to care for one and never had problems caring for her child either!! She once told me that the only bad part about it is that adults would go up to her and call her a whore, or that she's too young, and they would give some NASTY states... It was just ADULTS that did this to her... A 15 year old girl... 
She's 17 now and doesn't regret and it loves her baby boy so much! The only thing I can say rn is that I feel like it's hard to have time to do stuff as an adult? Especially if you're in college where you have to balance work and studying.

I had my daughter at 20 and as long as you have a great support system it's great, but you need to also realise this is the stage that most your friends will be going out partying and finding jobs ect. So most your friends will be non existent. If you can get into a good mothers group it really helps.

my mama had me at 21. we lived with my grandparents and all three of them worked. my mom did finish college with me while I went to day care on campus. we are extremely close now as I am older.

My first one was born when I was 21, 2nd when I was 22, 3rd when I was 24 and 4th when I was 27. I have no regrets what so ever of when I had my babies. The way I see it, I didn't want to be an old grandma. When they are all old enough to have children of their own I will still be somewhat young and I'll be able to play with them and not have to worry about getting too tired too quickly.

I had my only child at 19. It was very VERY hard. I was determined NOT to raise another welfare child. Luckily my grandparents were willing to sit for me while i worked 2 jobs to support her and i. Her dad had visitations and paid child support but that went to my grandparents for babysitting for me. I lost most of my friends. I never left her so i could go out.she was my priority. I missed out on a lot. Things I'll never have the opportunity to do again. I love her more than anything but if i had it all to do over again i would. She deserved better than what i could give her. We made it though. She's now 22 and a truly amazing, smart strong young woman.

I turn 20 in 6 days and I feel like parenting is easy , the only hard part is finances !! So far as rent groceries bills.
