Men attending baby showers?

Personally, this is not an issue to me whatsoever! If a man doesn't want to attend a baby shower, I get it! If a man does, I get that too! However, whenever I speak to women and they ask me "are men going to attend?", (which I am unsure of as my baby shower is being arranged for me!🙊) and I reply with "im not sure yet but I don't mind either way!" .. The responses I get are very over the top! Is this actually a 'thing' where men don't attend baby showers? I am soooo confused by this🙈😂
