Am I being petty?

I just had a miscarriage on Friday July 22 and am still bleeding from it. My friend knows I had it then and keeps telling me via text all the preparation she is doing for her baby who is due to arrive in the next few weeks or sooner. Last night she was telling me she was folding the baby's clothes. I responded with a thumbs up sign. Now she is talking about how long it took her to pack things for the hospital. It's a little annoying but I wish her the best. I just don't want to hear that stuff right now. I think that's reasonable, don't ya think?

I just ended up responding "Cool. Good luck."

I don't think people realize when they are being selfish sometimes. It happens to us all!

You just need to send her a text saying something along the lines of, "I'm happy for you. I really am. But I am having a hard time finding happiness with my own loss being still fresh. If you can find it in your heart to let me distance myself from you till I can find peace in my heart, it would be so appreciated. Once again, I am so thrilled for you, It's just me needing to find peace."

I never knew the pain of a miscarriage until I had one of my own. I had seen my sister suffer through several miscarriages and I thought I understood her pain but in all reality, I didn't. Maybe your friend doesn't understand your pain but if you tell her then I'm sure she will. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks and it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to deal with. Time does make it easier but I don't think I will ever stop hurting over it.

I don't think you are I had the same due date as my cousin when I was pregnant but miscarried last month and she would always include me in group chats about her baby bump and ultrasound pics and how she was so excited and happy. I left the group chat didn't have the guts to tell her why and she still messaged me with I don't know what I said but I hope your ok 😒I thought it was obvious that I didn't want to know about that stuff for now. But I guess in there own excitement they don't think about our feeling at the moment. Just distance yourself or do what I couldn't do and tell her you can't handle it at the moment but you really are happy for her.

(I did let another cousin know that I was bawling everytime I saw her write something so I'm sure it got past along)

Yea it is I did not do good with my uncles girlfriend showing me pictures of her baby . I was no fan I had just lost my baby when she did that I went off on her I told her how could she when I had just lost mine I told her to have some respect . She tends to be a show off and doesn't realize when she hurts people

She's not being selfish by trying to talk about the baby she is preparing for. I know you're hurting- I've been on both sides- but you're the one being selfish. Your loss shouldn't prevent her from being able to share the excitement of the baby she's been growing all this time.
