Upset... Why can't I find out like other have many weeks before me!?

Made my 20 week ultrasound at 18w3d, ultrasound scheduling called me back to tell me I can't have it done until I'm actually 20 weeks. My dr told me I could get it done between 18-20 weeks. I told them that and they told me to call my Drs office and have the dr call them. Apparently I have a lot of time on my hands cause I don't have work, house to clean and a 2 year old to take care of. Needless to say I had to get their next available which isn't until Aug 16th. I'll be almost 22 weeks then. I'm so upset because I had a party planned for our gender reveal and everything and now I have to call it off 😩

U could have opted for genetic blood testing such as Harmony, Panorama and MaterniT21.  They are all primarily done to see if there's any chance of down syndrome or any other abnormalities, but as a bonus they also look at the X and Y gender chromosomes, thus being able to determine the gender much faster and more acuratly than any ultrasound and the cool part about that is that u can do it as early as 10 weeks. 
We opted for the harmony test at 12 weeks visit. Told us girl. 28.5 weeks now,  still girl. Harmony test is 99.9% acurate at 12 weeks. 
It was ideed right for us at 12 weeks..

I am an X-ray tech and work in a Radiology department. Unfortunately, it's the not the sonographer that has the say on when they can do that particular ultrasound. The Radiologist (who reads the ultrasounds) don't like those scans performed earlier than a certain time in the pregnancy (usually 20 weeks) because its not just a gender scan. In fact, it's called an anatomy scan and they check all the organs and other important things to make sure the baby is developing normally. They need to do this at 20+ weeks because that's when they can see everything the best.

The anatomy scan is actually a really important diagnostic ultrasound where they still pick up serious defects. I'm not trying to scare anyone - it's a fact. I was naive the first time and was just going in for gender too.... please don't get so caught up on finding out gender that you lose sight of what's most important - a healthy baby

Why don't you pay to have the gender blood test done?! That can be done way earlier. Just takes a week to get the results.

I'm getting mine done in two days. I'll be 18+5. My first I got done at 16 wks and it was at a place that did 3D4D ultrasounds.

Mines at 22 weeks as well.  My doctor won't do it before then. I'm very anxious to see my baby again, and to find out the gender, I feel you.

We have to wait until almost 21 weeks to find out, too. And ladies who were able to have genetic testing done, you don't know how fortunate you are! Because there was no medical need (no family history, no indicators, etc.) for us to have a genetic test run on our baby, we would have had to pay $3500 out of pocket to have the test run. That's why it blows my mind when I see some mamas say they were able to pay $250 or so and have it done. SO fortunate! We decided we would rather have the $3500 go toward actual things the baby needs, not just us wanting to know the gender weeks ahead of time.

I know your struggle  i had to reschedule my gender reveal 3 times because the techs couldn't tell if it was a boy or girl cause the umbilical cord was between the babys legs. Eventually we wend to the self pay 3d/4d place and got the cheapest package and they even did an 3d peek and knew right away what it was! I would do that. I chose not to do the blood work at 10 weeks. Kinda wish i did it, then i would have that stress of the gender. Lol.

Me too! My Dr said I can get the anatomy scan from wk 18-20. But when I called to make the appointment they said it couldn't be until 20 weeks 😩
