Should we try?

Me and my boyfriend are currently long distance, although we plan on changing that soon c: we've talked about having kids, but hes really sick and it's life threatening. The treatment for it lowers his chances of having kids, and his chances were already low. I think he said they said he had (I THINK) a 2% chance. Is there anything a fertility specialist could help with? Could medication help raise his chances?
