Castor oil to induce labor?

Two of my friends that were due at the same time as me used it (in small doses) and they both have their babies already, and swear thats what did it. Im so ready to meet my little one asap im due in 2 days and im miserable. I was against it at first but now im reconsidering it. What are your thoughts? Has it worked for you? What happened to you after you took it?

Ive honestly heard nothing but horrible things about it, but its definitely personal preference.

Just the thought of it being oil makes me gag. I dont think id be able to use it if i wanted to. I try to do a lot of going up and down the stairs and even some dancing.

I took it with my first born two days before my due date and it worked! I considered it with my second but went into labor two weeks early! It does work I got the shits from it and I showed signs of contractions right after I was done pooping lol it does work but I think I was also dilated to a 1 when I took it and it sped things up

I know people who had horrible experiences taking it. I personally wouldn't do it but it's a choice you have to make. If your baby and body aren't ready, nothing will work. 😔

It didn't work for me. I had to be induced. After being a week late and he still didn't want to come out I was in labor for 2 days.

From what I've read it often leads to upset stomach/vomiting/diarrhea which I wouldn't want to have especially while I'm in labor and already uncomfortable. I would try the other stuff like pineapple, sex, walking, etc before doing something that may make me sick, I hate having stomach issues, yuck. BTW I'm 39.2 with my 3rd baby with zero progress, not dilated or effaced at all, baby hasn't dropped, so I feel your frustration!

As with any tip or trick, it's only going to work if your body is ready. For every woman who was a success, there is a woman who just had horrible diarrhea and fake contractions. It's a personal choice - definitely do your research.
