Diagnosed with PCOS at age 30. Still TTC 1 year later

Shaye

Hi all!

I'm still new to this app and community so hopefully I'm posting in the right place! I started BC when I was about 18 and eventually stuck with the pill until I was about 27. I stopped taking it due to weight gain and very high blood pressure. I started eating better and exercising but last year, at age 30, I was diagnosed with PCOS and put on 1,000mg of Metformin along with other medications. I was told it would help regulate my periods (periods were very irregular and didn't come often) and jump start ovulation. It's been a year and my cycles are still very long (currently on day 82) and making TTC difficult. I've been logging everything on a regular basis and according to this app, I was set to ovulate in the beginning of June. We attempted to conceive once again but my hpt this past Saturday said negative again 😕

I obviously do not want to get on BC to regulate so my question is, do I speak to my doctor about increasing my Metformin dosage or just ask about another type of medication that will finally regulate my period so I can ovulate normally? I was really hoping I wouldn't have to change any dosages or add another pill but after patiently TTC for the last 9 months, I feel like it's time to get some answers to my questions.

Thanks in advance!
