Should people get mad over "love you too"?

So, my SO and I have been together for almost a year. I can be picky about things because I've been in bad relationships before, so I watch for the "signs". I'm trying not to. Slowly my SO started saying "love you too." It bothered me. It really did. Suddenly, I realized, in order for this to work, I must let go of my fear of being cheated on or broken. I must not demand our relationship. I want it to flow. So.. I've been trying to lighten up. On alot of things; not only this. So, what opinions do you ladies have? Thank you in advance.
