When do you get your first ultrasound?

This is my first pregnancy and I'm super excited just not sure how everything works. The doctor won't see me until I'm 8 weeks. What will they do that day? Will we will hear the heartbeat?

It's my first pregnancy too.  My doctor said no ultrasound until 10 weeks because I'm a healthy lady at a good age for pregnancy.  I think all doctors are different and will be more likely to do an early ultra sound of your periods aren't regular to figure out your due date based on size.  I'm super bummed, but it's so fun to see everyone else's little blessings!

Im 6 + weeks and my dr told me today to schedule my 1st appt... A sonogram to confirm the due date. :)

I'm 8 weeks and 5 days, had my first ultrasound today! The heart beat was 170bpm we didn't get to hear it though because she didn't want to put to much on the baby energy wise, but every doctor is different.

It depends on your doctor, they should explain when they will do everything to you but if not ask. I get to hear the heartbeat at 10 weeks but my OB doesn't do ultrasounds till 18-20 unless I had pain or any concern.
