How far does your pubic hair grow?

How far beyond the edges of your labia does your pubic hair grow? Mine naturally goes like an inch or two past my underwear or bikini line/onto my thighs. I know our society's obsession with removing pubic hair is ridiculous, but even when women make a statement by going "natural" they still always having the bikini line waxed/shaved. My skin is super sensitive down there (I get super painful and itchy red bumps anywhere I shave and waxing makes my skin turn bright red and have some minor bleeding), so I hate having to remove my pubic hair, but I feel like any romantic/sexual partner would be weirded out out by true "au naturale." I'm 18, a virgin, and about to go off to college, and very self conscious about it. Please help!
