Period or Lochia?

Hi June moms, I'm 4 weeks pp and my bleeding (lochia) stopped at 2 weeks... That is until yesterday when I started bleeding bright red. So I'm wondering - did anyone start their period again only one month after giving birth? Am I just that unlucky?

The other thing is that I just started taking the baby on long walks, so it's possible that I've overdone it and am bleeding as a result.

Has this happened to anyone? Any ideas?

My lochia tapered off after 2 weeks, then came back heavy and bright red after 3 weeks. It stayed that way for a week or so, until finally turning darker and then yellow. It's still not completely finished now at 6 weeks. I called my doctor's office when it happened, for fear that it was a late hemorrhage. The nurse said that it's not uncommon for the bright red to come back, especially if you have upped your activity level. 
That being said, if you're soaking pads quickly, you should call your own doctor.

Are you formula feeding?  It seems odd that the lochia bleeding would stop for that long.
