When to schedule to see a pediatric?

When should I be looking or schedule an appointment with a pediatric? I haven't given birth yet but I was wondering should I do it before I give birth or after?

A pediatrician will check on baby while you are in the hospital. Right after you are discharged you should call baby's pediatrician to schedule the first well visit a few days later. 
I was discharged on Tuesday and her first visit was Friday

If you're interviewing them to decide who to go with then do it 3rd trimester. But you don't need to do anything official until you notify hospital who the dr is for discharge (just make sure they accept whatever insurance you are adding baby to), then you will need to let insurance know the baby's primary when you sign baby up.
